Recipes/Beef Stew
Ingredients:
15ml oil (or bacon grease)
1 kg beef stew meat
1 tsp salt
1 litre beef broth
4-6 cloves of garlic, minced
30ml Worcestershire sauce
60ml Red Wine
30ml Tomato Paste
500g carrots, cut into small chunks
900g-1kg potatoes, cut into small chunks (5 or 6 medium)
15ml dried thyme
15ml dried oregano
Salt to taste - none if the broth is salty, maybe 10ml or so if not.
250ml frozen peas (optional)
2tbsp cornstarch
~1/4 cup water
Directions:
- brown the beef in the oil/grease briefly on saute mode
- add salt and beef broth
- cook on manual mode, high pressure, for 30 minutes
- add the garlic, carrots, potatoes
- cook on manual mode, high pressure for 10 minutes
- leave on keep warm mode, add frozen peas
- mix some of the water into the cornstarch until it forms a slurry, and then add to the pot and mix until slightly thickened.
